Mock Trial

For all those interested in learning more about the legal system and would enjoy competing in a true courtroom setting, Mock Trial is for you. Mock trial teams at the high school explore a different area of law each year. Teams are provided with the case materials which include the problem and rules of evidence and procedure. After students study the hypothetical case, they take the case "to court." A panel of practicing attorneys and judges hears the evidence and arguments, evaluating the performance of the lawyers and witnesses. The season lasts from November to March. Anyone in grades 9-12 who is interested should attend the organizational meeting in late October. Tryout information will be distributed at this time. Awards and recognition include a certification of participation; district, regional, state and possibly national awards. Contact the Student Activities Office for further information.

2007 Information Meetings will be held in Room 121 on the following days:

  • Monday, October 8 at 7:15 a.m.
  • Wednesday, October 10 at 7:55 a.m. and at 3:00 p.m.
