National Honor Society

The selection process for National Honor Society begins in early May. All sophomores and juniors who believe their Grade Point Average will be 3.7 or higher at the end of the 4th term are encouraged to fill out an application packet for consideration. Sophomores and juniors will receive letters in the mail in May to tell them where and when they can pick up application packets.

Applicants must meet the minimum GPA and will be judged on their academic records, service hours, leadership, and essay responses. They will receive notice the following September as to whether or not their applications were approved.

The National Honor Society meets during the first and third zero hour of each month. Generally, the meetings are not for the full hour so NHS students would be able to spend some of the time in meetings of other clubs where they are members.

To remain a member in good standing of NHS, a student must have regular attendance at NHS meetings, participate in NHS service projects and keep a minimum GPA of 3.7 or better.
