On-Site Application Program
This early acceptance program for EPHS seniors began in 2002. Seniors are allowed to interview with a maximum of 2 colleges that are participating in the program and to receive acceptance on the same day in mid-October. Applications for the colleges of choice must have been filled out by the required date near the end of September, and the colleges’ minimum admission requirements met. These applications would be turned in to the Career Resource Center at the high school rather than being sent to the college.
Specific colleges may choose to elevate their normal minimum admission requirements for this program (for instance, raise the minimum accepted ACT score or minimum accepted GPA). Applications and specific criteria for acceptance are available in the Career Resource Center in September after counselors have met with their senior groups.
Participation by students in this program is entirely voluntary, and students are not bound by college acceptance through the program. If students do not participate on this day, they can still apply later to any of these colleges through the standard application procedures.
More details are sent to seniors in August, including the final list of participating institutions. About 25 colleges have participated in the past from Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Iowa, Colorado, Kansas and Illinois.
Students interested in this program must take the ACT or SAT no later than June of their junior year and send the results to EPHS. For further information, see Mary Kerns at the Career Resource Center or speak with your counselor.
