Photography Club

The following information was supplied by one of the presidents of Photography Club in November, 2005:

Photography Club at EPHS is for students who love photography and want to learn more about it. No experience is necessary; many members have never taken a photography class, but there are also many who are very experienced photographers. Though our focus is on black and white photography, members are also encouraged to explore color and digital photography. Most meetings will be structured around learning a new technique, field trips, or speakers. More specifically, these activities may include trips to Round Lake Park, dark room techniques, film development, print making and mounting, toning, experimentation with different camera settings, composition techniques, etc.

The club meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month, with the occasional meeting on a fifth Tuesday at the club's discretion, in room 254, which is the photography lab. We are a very relaxed club; members may come to meetings when they are interested in the topic or have work to do, but they are not required to come. Currently, our work is not on display. However, after we have met a couple times, our work will be on display in the display case near the Industrial Technology office.

NOTE: Photography Club at EPHS is in need of WORKING new or used 35mm SLR (manual), point-and-shoot, and digital cameras. The cameras will be used in both photography classes and Photography Club by students who do not have access to cameras. If you have a camera you can donate, please take it to the Student Activities Office at Eden Prairie High School or, if you prefer, contact an EPCGT high school site rep. THANK-YOU!
